Terms of Service & Sale

1. Purpose and acceptance

These Terms of Service & Sale govern access to targumi.com and use of Targumi services. They form a contract between you (the User) and the publisher (see Legal Notice).

By creating an account or making a purchase, you acknowledge having read, understood and accepted these Terms in full. If you disagree, leave the site and do not use the service.

2. Publisher

Targumi is published by Benjamin Maubacq, sole proprietor (French Entreprise Individuelle), SIREN 850 609 744, EU VAT FR 95 850 609 744, registered office 10 Avenue du général Maistre, 75014 Paris, France. Email: [email protected].

3. Service description

Targumi is a language-learning platform offering:

  • Interactive lessons (vocabulary, dialogue, audio, quizzes)
  • Live classes in small groups with native teachers (Google Meet)
  • Replays and written materials of past classes
  • CEFR level certification system
  • Free WhatsApp peer-support community per language
  • Free SEO tools (level test, translator, survival kit, cultural quiz)

4. Registration and user account

Registration is open to anyone aged 16 or older (or with parental consent below). You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information. Only one account per person is permitted.

You are responsible for the confidentiality of your credentials and any activity from your account. Contact [email protected] immediately if you suspect unauthorised access.

Benjamin Maubacq reserves the right to suspend or terminate an account in case of fraudulent use, credential sharing, or breach of these Terms.

5. Plans, prices and payment

Targumi offers subscription plans (Quarterly, Annual) and a Lifetime access. Prices are displayed in euros (incl. VAT) on the pricing page. Promotions are clearly indicated with their duration and conditions.

Payments are securely processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. Targumi does not store any card data. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled from your account. Lifetime access is a one-time payment with no renewal.

On payment failure, Premium access may be suspended until resolved. An invoice is issued for each transaction, available in your account.

6. Right of withdrawal (EU consumers)

Pursuant to articles L221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code (and the EU Consumer Rights Directive), you have 14 days from the conclusion of the contract to exercise your right of withdrawal, without justification.

Exception: under article L221-28 1° of the French Consumer Code, you expressly waive your right of withdrawal if you requested immediate execution of the service (lesson access, live class registration) before the 14-day period and the service has been fully performed.

To exercise this right, send your request to [email protected] with your name, account email and purchase date. You may use the model form below. Refunds are processed within 14 days via the original payment method.

Targumi commercial guarantee: regardless of the legal withdrawal right, Targumi offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on any new subscription. Request to [email protected].

8. Live classes and educational property

Live classes are accessible to Premium subscribers within available seat limits. Intermediate and Advanced sessions may require passing a level test. Benjamin Maubacq reserves the right to modify, postpone or cancel a session due to teacher absence, low enrolment or force majeure. You will be notified and the session will be rescheduled or credited.

9. Intellectual property

All platform content (text, audio, video, lessons, pedagogical structure, brand, logo, source code) is the exclusive property of Benjamin Maubacq or its partners, protected by copyright, trademark law and database rights.

Benjamin Maubacq grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to use the service for strictly personal and non-commercial purposes during your subscription. Any reproduction, redistribution, resale, modification or commercial use without prior written authorisation is prohibited.

10. User conduct

The User agrees to respect teachers and other learners, not to disrupt live sessions, not to share credentials, and not to make discriminatory, hateful or unlawful remarks. Any breach may result in account suspension or termination without refund, without prejudice to potential legal action.

11. Personal data

Processing of your personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, GDPR and French Data Protection Act compliant. To exercise your rights: [email protected].

12. Limitation of liability

Benjamin Maubacq strives to maintain 24/7 service availability but cannot guarantee continuous availability. We are not liable for service interruptions related to maintenance, force majeure, third-party provider failures (Stripe, Google, Supabase, Hetzner) or your own internet connection.

Targumi has a best-efforts obligation: we commit to providing quality educational service but cannot guarantee a specific language level, which depends on your engagement and consistency. Our liability is capped at the amount paid by the User over the past 12 months.

13. Termination

You may cancel your subscription anytime from your account. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period (no pro-rata refund except for legal withdrawal or money-back guarantee). For Lifetime access, no cancellation is needed.

Benjamin Maubacq may terminate your account in case of serious breach of these Terms, after a formal notice without remedy, without prejudice to potential damages.

14. Mediation and dispute resolution

In case of dispute, the User shall first contact [email protected] to seek an amicable solution. Failing agreement, pursuant to article L612-1 of the French Consumer Code, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge (see Legal Notice).

15. Changes to these Terms

Benjamin Maubacq may modify these Terms at any time. Users will be notified by email of substantial changes at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

16. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, after any failed amicable attempt and mediation, French courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction (subject to consumer protection rules allowing the consumer to file with the court of their place of residence).
