Terms of Sale
Version of 12 October 2026
These terms apply to every order placed on targumi.com or in the Targumi application on or after 12 October 2026. Earlier orders remain governed by the terms of 28 August 2026, summarised in the appendix. This English version is provided for information; the French version prevails.
Article 1. Purpose and scope
1.1 These terms of sale ("the Terms") set out the rules for subscribing to, paying for, renewing and cancelling Targumi's paid plans. They complement the terms of use, which govern the account, behaviour on the platform, intellectual property, liability and personal data, and which remain available on the Terms of Use page.
1.2 You accept the Terms by confirming your order on the secure payment page, where a link to the Terms appears next to the confirmation button. The Terms accepted are those of the version in force on the day of the order. Targumi keeps, with your order, the accepted version, the date of the order and your account identifier. Each version of the Terms remains available at its dated address.
1.3 The Terms apply to orders placed on or after 12 October 2026. An order placed before that date remains subject to the terms of 28 August 2026, available on the Terms of Service and Sale page. Offers sold before 12 October 2026 are described in the appendix.
Article 2. Seller
The services are sold by Targumi, a single-shareholder simplified joint-stock company (société par actions simplifiée unipersonnelle) with share capital of €1,000, registered with the Pontoise Trade and Companies Register under number 107 207 466 (SIRET 10720746600015, EU VAT number FR92107207466), whose registered office is at Bâtiment 1, 30 rue Jean Jaurès, 95400 Arnouville, France, represented by its president, Benjamin Maubacq. Email: [email protected]. Telephone: +33 7 56 86 38 92.
Article 3. Plans and prices
3.1 Targumi offers two subscription plans, both of which give access to every language on the platform:
a) the Solo plan, which includes the lessons, replays, written materials, progress tracking and small-group live classes, at €17 per week, €49 per month or €99 per quarter (which is €33 per month for the quarter);
b) the Platform plan, which includes the lessons, written materials and progress tracking, without the live classes or their replays, at €19 per month.
3.2 For orders paid in US dollars, the prices are $17 per week, $49 per month and $99 per quarter for the Solo plan, and $19 per month for the Platform plan. The currency is that of the order page: euros on the French site, US dollars on the English site. It does not change afterwards for that subscription.
3.3 Prices include all taxes. Targumi benefits from the French VAT exemption scheme (article 293 B of the Code général des impôts); if Targumi became liable for VAT, the price you pay would stay the same and the tax would be included in it. The invoice for each payment is available in your area, under "My subscription".
3.4 The price of a plan is the one displayed at the time of ordering. It is applied unchanged at each renewal for as long as the subscription continues without interruption. Targumi may change its prices for new orders; a change to the price of a current subscription would be announced to you by email at least 30 days before it applies, with the option to cancel before that date.
Article 4. 7-day trial
4.1 The first subscription of an account begins with a 7-day trial. The trial gives full access to the chosen plan. Nothing is charged on the day of the order.
4.2 A valid payment method must be registered to open the trial. At the end of the 7 days, unless you cancel before then, the price of the chosen plan is charged to that payment method and the subscription begins. The first charge is made 7 days after you confirm the order; its date and time are sent to you by email when the trial opens.
4.3 You can end the trial at any time from "My subscription". Nothing is charged and you keep access until the end of the trial.
4.4 Only one trial is granted per account and per customer. If your account, or the customer registered for you with our payment provider, has already had a trial, the plan is charged at the time of ordering and the right of withdrawal in article 8 applies. Targumi may refuse a trial clearly obtained through a second account.
4.5 During the trial, you can ask for a change of plan or billing period by writing to [email protected]. The change does not extend the trial: the first charge keeps its date and applies to the plan selected on that date.
4.6 For orders subject to these Terms, the 7-day trial replaces the commercial guarantee provided for in the earlier terms.
Article 5. Discounts
5.1 The plans described in article 3 are sold at the price shown, without any discount. Should Targumi ever offer a discount on these plans, its conditions (validity period, plans concerned, duration of application) are shown with it, and the amount you will pay is displayed before you confirm the order.
5.2 Codes and discounts from offers sold before 12 October 2026 do not apply to the plans described in article 3.
Article 6. Term and renewal
6.1 The subscription is taken out for the length of the chosen billing period: one week, one month or one quarter. It renews automatically for an identical period, at the same price, until cancelled.
6.2 Each period is paid in advance, by charge to the registered payment method, on the renewal day. An invoice is issued for each payment.
6.3 Articles L215-1 to L215-3 and L241-3 of the French Code de la consommation, which concern tacit renewal and cancellation, are reproduced in full, as required by article L215-4 of that code, in the appendix: articles of the French Code de la consommation reproduced. They apply to your subscription in addition to these Terms.
Article 7. Cancellation
7.1 You can cancel your subscription at any time, online, from "My subscription", with the cancellation button and then its confirmation. No other formality is required, and the effective date is shown to you on confirmation. You can also cancel by writing to [email protected] from your account's email address; the cancellation then takes effect under the same conditions on receipt of your message.
7.2 During the trial, cancelling prevents any charge and you keep access until the end of the trial (article 4.3).
7.3 For weekly and monthly billing, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. You keep access until that date and no further charge is made. Periods already paid are not refunded, except in the event of withdrawal under article 8 or in the case provided for by article L215-1 of the French Code de la consommation, reproduced in the appendix (article 6.3).
7.4 For quarterly billing, online cancellation takes effect at the end of the current quarter, keeping access until that date without a refund. You can also ask, by writing to [email protected], for the subscription to end immediately with a refund of the unused part of the quarter. This part is calculated to the day: the amount paid for the quarter, multiplied by the number of days remaining between the effective date (not included) and the end of the quarter, divided by the number of days in the quarter paid, rounded to the cent. For example, for a quarter paid €99 covering 92 days and cancelled with 40 days remaining, the refund is 99 × 40 / 92, that is €43.04. Access is closed on the effective date and the refund is made within 14 days to the payment method used.
7.5 Targumi may cancel a subscription in the event of a serious breach of the terms of use, after a formal notice that has remained without effect for 8 days, or without delay in the event of payment fraud or credential sharing contrary to the terms of use. Paid and unused periods are refunded pro rata, except in the event of fraud.
7.6 Deleting your account cancels your subscription with immediate effect, without a refund of the current weekly or monthly period. For quarterly billing, the unused part of the quarter is refunded on request to [email protected], calculated as in article 7.4.
Article 8. Right of withdrawal
8.1 If you are a consumer, you have 14 days from subscribing to withdraw, without having to give a reason and at no cost, in accordance with articles L221-18 and following of the French Code de la consommation. You subscribe on the day you confirm your order on the payment page, whether or not the subscription begins with a trial.
8.2 To withdraw, inform Targumi of your decision before the end of that period. The simplest way is the online withdrawal function: in your profile, under "My subscription", the link "Withdraw from contract here", available throughout the withdrawal period, opens your withdrawal statement, in which you provide or confirm your name, the contract concerned and the email address to which the acknowledgement of receipt will be sent; you send it with the "Confirm withdrawal" button. The subscription then ends immediately, Targumi makes the refund provided for in article 8.3 and sends you without delay, by email, an acknowledgement of receipt that sets out the content of your statement and the date and time it was sent. You can also send an unambiguous written statement to [email protected] or by post to the registered office, for example using the form in article 8.6: Targumi then applies the same effects and replies to you by email. Your withdrawal is made within the period if you send it before the period expires. During the trial, you can also simply cancel the trial from "My subscription": nothing is charged. Cancelling from "My subscription" follows article 7 and is not a withdrawal; to obtain the refund provided for in article 8.3, use the withdrawal function or write to us within the 14-day period.
8.3 If you withdraw, the subscription ends and Targumi refunds all amounts charged under this contract, without any deduction, no later than 14 days after being informed of your decision. The refund is made using the same payment method as the one used for the order, unless you agree to another method, and costs you nothing.
Example. You subscribe to the monthly plan on 12 October with a 7-day trial: the first charge of €49 is made on 19 October. If you withdraw on 24 October, the €49 is refunded to you in full.
8.4 Access to your plan is opened as soon as you subscribe, during the withdrawal period. Using the platform during that period does not reduce the amount refunded.
8.5 The right of withdrawal applies to the initial contract. The renewal of the subscription at each period does not open a new withdrawal period: once the period in article 8.1 has passed, you can cancel at any time under the conditions of article 7.
8.6 Withdrawal form. You may use the following text, without being required to.
To Targumi, Bâtiment 1, 30 rue Jean Jaurès, 95400 Arnouville, France, [email protected]. I hereby give notice that I withdraw from the contract for the provision of the service below. Plan ordered: [Solo or Platform, billing period]. Ordered on: [date]. Account email address: [address]. Name: [name]. Postal address: [address]. Date: [date]. Signature (only if sent on paper).
Article 9. Payment methods
9.1 The accepted payment methods are those offered on the payment page at the time of ordering. Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd; Targumi keeps no card data.
9.2 By registering your payment method, you authorise Targumi to charge the price of each period on its renewal date, until cancellation. You can change your payment method at any time from "My subscription".
9.3 An invoice is issued for each payment and remains available in your area.
Article 10. Failed payment
10.1 If a charge fails, new attempts may be made automatically over a few days, depending on the payment method used. You can update your payment method at any time from "My subscription".
10.2 Access is kept while these new attempts are made. If no charge succeeds, the subscription ends and access is closed.
10.3 No fee is added to the price of the unpaid period, which is no longer claimed from you once the subscription has ended. You can subscribe again at any time, at the price then in force and without a new trial.
10.4 If your bank requires authentication for a charge, the charge remains failed until the authentication has been completed.
Article 11. Access and live classes
11.1 Both plans give access to every language offered on the platform, including those added after your order, at no extra cost.
11.2 The Solo plan gives access to small-group live classes, held by video conference by the platform's teachers, together with their replays and materials. The class schedule depends on the teachers available for each language and can be viewed in your area; some languages have no live class scheduled on a given date. Intermediate and advanced classes may require passing a level test.
11.3 Targumi may postpone or cancel a class in the event of the teacher's absence, a technical incident or force majeure. You are informed and the class is rescheduled where possible. A postponement or cancellation does not give rise to a refund, since the subscription covers access to the platform as a whole.
11.4 The Platform plan does not give access to live classes or to their reserved replays. To switch to the Solo plan, write to [email protected].
11.5 The level certificate is issued to Solo plan subscribers whose first payment has been collected; it is not issued during the trial, nor with the Platform plan.
11.6 Access is personal. Credential sharing is governed by the terms of use; it is not available for the plans described in article 3.
11.7 Legal guarantee of conformity. Targumi must provide you with digital content and a digital service that conform to the contract, under articles L224-25-12 and following of the French Code de la consommation. For a subscription, this guarantee applies for the whole duration of the subscription. In the event of a lack of conformity, you can obtain conformity free of charge or, failing that, a price reduction or termination of the contract, under the conditions of those articles. Any request should be sent to [email protected].
Article 12. Customers who ordered before 12 October 2026
12.1 If you took out a subscription or bought an access before 12 October 2026, your price, billing period and conditions do not change. You have nothing to do.
12.2 Lifetime accesses bought before 12 October 2026 are kept as they are, with the languages bought and the conditions of their order, described in the appendix.
12.3 If you wish to replace your earlier subscription with one of the plans in article 3, write to [email protected]. The new plan begins at the end of your period already paid, without a trial. This switch is final: the earlier prices and conditions cannot be restored afterwards, which is repeated to you before confirmation.
Article 13. Gift cards
Gift cards sold before 12 October 2026 remain valid under the conditions shown on each of them. The sale of gift cards is suspended from 12 October 2026 to 3 November 2026; the conditions of cards sold afterwards will be published when they go back on sale.
Article 14. Complaints and mediation
14.1 For any complaint, write to [email protected]. Targumi replies within 7 working days and looks for an amicable solution with you.
14.2 If no solution is found within two months of your written complaint, you will be able to refer the matter free of charge to a consumer mediator, in accordance with articles L611-1 and following of the Code de la consommation. Targumi has not yet appointed its mediator: their details will be published here and in the legal notice as soon as they are appointed. Until then, every complaint is handled at [email protected].
Article 15. Governing law
The Terms are governed by French law. If you live in another Member State of the European Union, you keep the benefit of the mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence. In the event of a dispute not resolved amicably, the French courts have jurisdiction, subject to your right to bring the matter before the court of your place of residence.
Article 16. Miscellaneous
16.1 The Terms are written in French. This English translation is provided for information; in the event of a difference, the French version prevails.
16.2 If a clause of the Terms were declared void, the others would remain applicable.
16.3 Targumi may publish a new version of the Terms for future orders. A current subscription remains subject to the version accepted when it was ordered, except for a change announced to you by email at least 30 days before it applies, with the option to cancel before that date.
Appendix. Offers sold before 12 October 2026
This appendix describes the offers ordered before 12 October 2026. They are governed by the terms of 28 August 2026, available on the Terms of Service and Sale page.
A.1 Sale per language. Before 12 October 2026, subscriptions and lifetime accesses were sold language by language. They cover the language or languages bought.
A.2 Additional language at 70% off. Holders of a subscription taken out before 12 October 2026 and still active keep the possibility of adding a language with the 70% discount, under the conditions of their offer. Lifetime accesses are no longer sold since 12 October 2026: an additional language is now taken with one of the plans in article 3, which open every language.
A.3 Commercial guarantee on earlier orders. Orders placed before 12 October 2026 benefit from the 30-day commercial guarantee provided for in the terms of 28 August 2026, assessed language by language and counted from the payment of each language. This guarantee continues to apply to those orders until it expires. It does not apply to the plans described in article 3.
A.4 Lifetime access. Lifetime accesses bought before 12 October 2026 are kept as they are: content of the language or languages bought, including content published after the purchase, live classes in those languages when classes are scheduled, and the sharing option provided for in article 4 of the terms of 28 August 2026. They are neither converted nor restricted by this version of the Terms.
A.5 Earlier subscriptions. Subscriptions taken out before 12 October 2026 renew at the price and billing period of their order, and are cancelled from "My subscription" or in writing at [email protected], with effect at the end of the current period.
Appendix: articles of the French Code de la consommation reproduced (article L215-4)
Article L215-4 of the French Code de la consommation (Consumer Code) requires articles L. 215-1 to L. 215-3 and L. 241-3 of that code to be reproduced in full in the service contracts to which they apply. The official French legal text is the only authentic version and prevails: it is reproduced first, in the version in force on 12 October 2026 as published on Légifrance, together with article L215-1-1, which sits between articles L215-1 and L215-2. An unofficial English translation follows, provided for information only.
Article L215-4 (version in force since 1 July 2016): « Les dispositions des articles L. 215-1 à L. 215-3 et L. 241-3 sont intégralement reproduites dans les contrats de prestation de services auxquels elles s'appliquent. »
Article L215-1 (version in force since 18 August 2022, as amended by article 16 of Law no. 2022-1158 of 16 August 2022).
Article L215-1-1 (version in force since 1 June 2023, created by article 15 of Law no. 2022-1158 of 16 August 2022).
Article L215-2 (version in force since 1 June 2023, as amended by article 15 of Law no. 2022-1158 of 16 August 2022).
Article L215-3 (version in force since 1 July 2016, resulting from Ordinance no. 2016-301 of 14 March 2016).
Article L241-3 (version in force since 1 July 2016, resulting from Ordinance no. 2016-301 of 14 March 2016).
Unofficial English translation. This translation has no legal value; only the French text above is authentic.
Article L215-4: "The provisions of articles L. 215-1 to L. 215-3 and L. 241-3 are reproduced in full in the contracts for the provision of services to which they apply."
Article L215-1 (unofficial translation).
For contracts for the provision of services concluded for a fixed term with a tacit renewal clause, the professional service provider informs the consumer in writing, by dedicated personal letter or dedicated email, no earlier than three months and no later than one month before the end of the period during which renewal may be rejected, of the possibility of not renewing the contract concluded with a tacit renewal clause. This information, given in clear and comprehensible terms, states, in a prominent box, the deadline for non-renewal.
Where this information has not been sent to the consumer in accordance with the first paragraph, the consumer may terminate the contract free of charge at any time from the renewal date.
Advance payments made after the last renewal date or, for contracts of indefinite duration, after the date on which the initial fixed-term contract was converted, are in that case refunded within thirty days of the termination date, less the amounts corresponding, up to that date, to the performance of the contract.
The provisions of this article apply without prejudice to those that legally subject certain contracts to specific rules concerning consumer information.
By way of exception to the first paragraph of this article, for contracts for the supply of a television service within the meaning of article 2 of Law no. 86-1067 of 30 September 1986 on freedom of communication and for contracts for the supply of on-demand audiovisual media services, the consumer may terminate the contract free of charge at any time from the first renewal, where the consumer changes residence or the consumer's tax household changes.
Article L215-1-1 (unofficial translation).
Where a contract was concluded electronically, or was concluded by another means and the professional, on the day the consumer terminates it, offers the consumer the possibility of concluding contracts electronically, termination is made possible by that means.
To this end, the professional makes available to the consumer a free functionality enabling the notification and the steps necessary to terminate the contract to be completed electronically. When the consumer gives notice of termination of the contract, the professional confirms receipt of the notification and informs the consumer, on a durable medium and within a reasonable time, of the date on which the contract ends and of the effects of the termination.
A decree sets out, in particular, the technical arrangements capable of guaranteeing identification of the consumer and easy, direct and permanent access to the functionality mentioned in the second paragraph, such as how it is presented and used. It determines the information to be provided by the consumer.
Article L215-2 (unofficial translation).
The provisions of this chapter, with the exception of article L. 215-1-1, do not apply to operators of drinking water and sanitation services.
Article L215-3 (unofficial translation).
The provisions of this chapter also apply to contracts concluded between professionals and non-professionals.
Article L241-3 (unofficial translation).
Where the professional has not made the refund under the conditions provided for in article L. 215-1, the sums due bear interest at the statutory rate.
