A grandmother in a blue headscarf smiles
A family language

Reconnect with Georgian

The language of your parents, your grandparents or your partner. The one you want to pass on to your children.

A couple by the water
Speaking the language of the country means reconnecting with its people.
A mother and her son, cheek to cheek
Now, at home, we speak Georgian.
A young woman on the phone
“Hi Mum, I speak Georgian!”
A father laughing with his daughter in his arms
Children who speak Georgian are the greatest cultural wealth you can bring to your family.
A grandparent couple sitting on a rug
Your grandparents’ Georgian should not end with them.
  • Finally understand what is said at the table, and answer back.
  • Your in-laws speak Georgian to you. Answer them in Georgian.

A language is passed down from generation to generation. Now it is your turn.

The platform

Progress in Georgian between classes, at your own pace

Interactive lessons with native audio, vocabulary, dialogues and quizzes. Everything you need to reinforce your skills between live sessions.

The platform

Between classes, you move forward twenty minutes a day

Lessons follow one another in order, with no evening to set aside. Every word is recorded by a native speaker.

  • 303 lessons across 61 modules, from beginner to advanced
  • Native audio on every word, with a slow-down button
  • Your progress is kept, on phone and on computer alike
Audio

You hear the language as it is actually spoken

The recordings are made by native speakers, not by a synthetic voice. The slow-down button separates the sounds when it goes too fast.

  • Every sentence can be played and slowed down
  • The transcription and translation sit under the audio
  • You replay it as many times as you need, with no limit
Quizzes

Every module ends with a quiz, not with a ticked box

You are corrected on the spot, with the explanation. A failed quiz can be retaken, with no penalty and no record.

  • Immediate correction, with the right answer explained
  • An end-of-level test opens the next level
  • A level certificate at the end of the course
Level certificate

Your Georgian level, certified in your name

  • Issued once you have passed every lesson of a level: beginner, intermediate or advanced
  • Downloadable as a PDF and shareable on LinkedIn
  • A unique number, verifiable online on targumi.com
  • Included in the plans with live classes, from the first payment: it is not issued during the trial

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about learning Georgian

Mkhedruli has 33 letters, no uppercase, no lowercase. It is a phonetic and regular alphabet: each letter corresponds to a single sound. Most learners read fluently within 2 to 3 weeks. The letters are very distinct from one another, which prevents confusion. It is often the first concrete satisfaction in learning Georgian.
Georgian uses an ergative construction, the subject changes form depending on whether the verb is transitive or intransitive, which does not exist in English. Consonant clusters are also complex (up to six consonants in a row: 'vprtskvni' = I peel). But core vocabulary is attainable quickly, and pronunciation becomes regular once the sounds are mastered. Our courses progress from conversation towards grammar, not the other way around.
Yes, traces of winemaking dating back to 6,000 BC have been discovered in Georgia, making it the oldest known wine production site. The Georgian method using buried amphorae (qvevri) is inscribed on the UNESCO heritage list. Learning Georgian also unlocks access to a unique wine culture, featuring grape varieties found nowhere else in the world (Rkatsiteli, Saperavi).
Georgia offers a one-year visa (Remotely from Georgia), one of the lowest costs of living in Europe, excellent internet connectivity and a legendary culture of hospitality. Tbilisi has exploded as a nomad hub since 2020. Learning even a few basics of Georgian radically transforms the on-the-ground experience.
Georgian is classed as category 4 (very difficult) by the US FSI. For an English or French speaker, expect 12 to 18 months with regular lessons to reach B1. The alphabet is learned quickly, core vocabulary within a few months, but ergative grammar and complex consonant clusters take time. The payoff is a rare and highly valued skill.
One plan, Full access, gives you every language, live small-group classes with native teachers, interactive lessons and the community: $8.50 instead of $17 a week, $24.50 instead of $49 a month or $49.50 instead of $99 a quarter, after a 7-day free trial. The Platform plan, without live classes, costs $9.50 instead of $19 a month. Launch offer until October 31 at 11:59 pm (Paris time), with a limited number of spots: you keep the reduced price for as long as you stay subscribed.
100% online. When live classes are scheduled for this language, they take place in small groups via Google Meet; the schedule is in the platform. Interactive lessons stay accessible 24/7.

“Road trip in Georgia last August, rented a car and drove through the villages. Without the classes I would've missed dozens of exchanges. Only regret: not enough spoken practice at the start of the course.”

“tried learning on my own with YouTube videos for 2 months. Georgian script had me completely stuck. 3 sessions in here and it clicked — totally different approach.”

“Planned a trip to Tbilisi end of August. Found Georgian classes here, which is rare enough on its own. Good foundations. I just wish there were more speaking slots — I wanted more oral practice.”
