Ewe is a Kwa language spoken by approximately 7 million people in Ghana (Volta Region) and Togo (southern part of the country). A close cousin of Fon (Benin), it belongs to the large Gbe linguistic family. Ewe has a rich oral literature, vibrant musical traditions (the famous agbadza and borborbor rhythms), and a coastal culture facing the Atlantic.

Accra, Ghana's capital, has a strong Ewe community, and Lomé, Togo's capital, is deeply influenced by it. Learning to greet in Ewe opens doors to two countries and a vibrant diaspora present in France, Germany, and the United States.
